AppSizer allows you to modify an application’s MultiFinder partition size as you launch it. When you are launching an application, hold down the Control Key (or the Command Key - you can choose which one in the control panel) and the AppSizer dialog will appear. You can then set the application’s partition size. The new partition size can also be made permanent by using the Save button. This saves you from having to hunt down the application in the Finder, Get Info on it, then make the change permanent there. With the limited size of RAM, setting the one and only appropriate partition size for an application often isn’t possible. Sometimes you may want an application to take up as much memory as you have, at other times you want to squeeze it into memory with as many other applications as possible. AppSizer makes this easy by letting you change the partition size on the fly. There are other times when AppSizer can come in handy. If you are trying to run an application from a read-only volume (CD-ROM or AppleShare), the Get Info way to change an applications partition size doesn’t work - but AppSizer does! Programmers and software testers find AppSizer handy for performing memory boundary testing. AppSizer 2.1 has been tested with System 6.05, 6.07, 6.08 and System 7.0.
